話兒滿腹未逢時，椰樹垂頭久莫知。夜半敲窗喚何故？殷殷風葉報春遲。

鑑賞Appreciation
「話兒滿腹」以近乎口語的聲音起筆，椰樹卻久久不答。夜半的敲窗聲像是終於有了回音，帶來的仍是「春遲」。四句將等待化為一場未能如願的對話；心事沒有說破，留在風葉的聲息裡。
The conversational opening suggests much waiting to be said, but the bowed palms offer no reply. A sound at the window seems at last to answer, only to bring news of a delayed spring. In four lines, waiting becomes an unfinished exchange with the night. The unspoken burden remains within the movement and sound of the leaves.
