臺灣中華書局在1994年重編《辭海》後，便幾乎再無新書的出版了。直至聖嚴法師辭世前將《比較宗教學》這部經典（1968年初版）做增刪新修於2014年再版，似乎引燃了重生之苗。接下來，華裔美國實業家蔡實鼎先生、臺灣知名漢語學家何景賢博士的傳記陸續出版，冥冥中也牽起了與文刃先生的緣份。
After re-editing the Cihai in 1994, Chung Hwa Book Co. (Taiwan) published almost no new titles for years. Only when Master Sheng Yen, before his passing, revised his classic A Study of Comparative Religion (first ed. 1968) for a 2014 edition did a seed of renewal seem to catch. Biographies of the Chinese-American industrialist Cai Shiding and the noted sinologist Dr. He Jingxian followed — and, as if by fate, drew the bond with Mr. Wen Ren.
即使有了新書出版的契機，然而近十餘年來，編輯部的主力仍都在整理古籍，對於出版傾向保守。收到文刃的詩，在枯燥繁瑣的舊書復刻工作中如醍醐灌頂。於是編輯部便開始一邊做原本的工作、一邊思考如何爭取出版機會，歷經大半年才終於在2023年夏末初秋豁然開朗。
Even so, for more than a decade the editors’ main labor remained the collation of old texts, and our publishing inclined to the cautious. Receiving Wen Ren’s poems, amid that dry and intricate work, was like a sudden awakening. We worked on while weighing how to seize the chance to publish, until at last, in the late summer of 2023, all became clear.
關於文刃的詩情才氣，書中多位作家的詩評已說得極為詳盡。在此談談它的編排與感想。本書由精煉簡潔的詩開始，爾後才有文。尤其那是磅礴豪氣的詩啊！讀者要經得起這份震撼便會品到編輯部同仁們最初嚐到的醍醐味。往後讀，層層的不同感受會堆疊湧進……我想說，年輕一點的朋友讀到的是詩性、才情；及長，必定會為文刃何處惹塵的赤子之心顫出淚來……
Of Wen Ren’s poetic gift the critics in this book have spoken in full; here we speak only of its arrangement and our feeling. It begins with poetry, spare and refined, and only then turns to prose — and such bold, magnificent poems! A reader who can bear their force will taste the revelation we first felt. Read on, and layer upon layer of feeling presses in… Younger readers will find its poetry and talent; older ones will surely shed tears for the child-heart caught amid the dust of the world.
作者在《蒲總》一文中說到：「原來這麼多天，我不是在幫助司機找到他的駕照，而是在幫助自己找到我的人生目的，找到我自己……」本書就有這樣的魔力，足以讓每位讀者在這裡重新找到自己！
In the essay “Director Pu,” the author writes: “All these days, it turns out, I was not helping the driver find his license, but helping myself find the purpose of my life — find myself…” This book holds that very magic — enough for every reader to find themselves anew.
